OK, here is what we do know. The coin is truly mint state. We grade it as MS62 and can even make a strong argument for a higher grade. The fields are fully reflective with no hairlines or anything funny hiding under the toning. Luster is what one would expect from a coin of this grade. Now let's talk about the toning. We believe it to be real. I would suspect the grading services may take a different school of thought but the more I look at it the more I can convenience myself that it was from being in contact with a high sulfur content paper, perhaps in a safety deposit box. Either real or not it is stunning and priced to eliminate the issue. I may be wrong about the toning but you will not be wrong by purchasing this piece. It really is a great eye appealing coin.
