We do not remember the last time we offered an 1839 Seated Half for sale. Required by everyone assembling a Type set as it is a one year only issue and the initial of the long running Seated Liberty series. This particular piece is the scarce "No Drapery" variety. The mint changed later in 1839 to add the drapery to enhance die wear thus creating a one year variety. This coin is resplendent with old time toning on both sides with enough crisp detail to make you wish to have seen it when it was removed from the die. Very scarce coin and we suggest you move very quickly on this one as they are just not out there.
