PCGS has designated this piece with a "92" code for cleaning. Yes, it was once cleaned (NOT harshly) and then probably placed in the album and resided there for many years. Many Bust Halves have experienced the same thing over the years and many of them have developed wonderful album toning just like this piece. We personally grade this piece as a strong XF45+ for details. The strike is a relatively early one as the stars have not yet spread to the rims as normal for later struck pieces. Look closely at this piece any you will be very pleased with what you see.
